The Art of Apprecitation

Title: Art of Appreciation

Author: Autumn Markus

Genre: Adult Contemporary

Publication Date: December 17, 2013

Publisher: Omnific Publishing

Event organized by: Literati Author Services, Inc.

Synopsis

Abby Reynolds is burned out.

Since clawing her way into a great position at a Boston museum, she’s been saddled with a scheming intern and a nagging boss. She’s scuttled her own painting dreams, her cat refuses to be box trained, and now the most boring man on the eastern seaboard just told her, “It’s not you, it’s me.”

Her bestie Sarah offers a much-needed escape: a summer of sand, sea, and younger men in Santa Cruz…

Hot young bike racer Jason is sexy, unattached, and completely ready to spend a summer in uncomplicated flirtation. Since Abby has decided love is off the table, he seems like the perfect match.

Then she meets Matt. Sculptor, surfer (and age appropriate), he’s everything she gave up wanting and then some. He’s a grown-ass man with his own life issues: does he want to sculpt for love or for profit? What about that twentysomething model who’s always clinging to him? Is he ready to let a woman invade his Fortress of Solitude?

Abby has to decide whether she’s satisfied with leaving behind the idea of Mr. Right and settling for Mr. Right Now.

Grown up love. It’s complicated.

Review- 4 Stars

The Art of Appreciation is a fast paced novel with enough romance to keep your face in permanent swoon. I, personally, adored this novel. It not only satisfied my need for a spunky heroine, but eradicated any doubts in this novel. At first I was like, this is going to be the same old girl meets boy, boy and girl are otherwise occupied. Though that was in the novel, it took up only part of the book, leaving the rest unknown. I saw different themes within it. Finding your true passion. Trust. And most of all, Art. I loved how when Abby and Matt got together, they didn’t drop everything to be together. They understood that they had their own lives in very different areas. They continued to date for the summer at least and within that short span of time Abby rediscovers a passion that she had lost once before. As they begin to draw closer, what will they do when the summer ends? Read it to find out.

The descriptions were one of my favorite things in this novel. The way that she described the art and the scenery made me feel as if I were really there. The humor she placed into the novel made me laugh so hard. I am thankful I had the opportunity to read this novel. Thanks Literati!

Only For You- Genna Rulon- 5 Stars

Title: Only for You (For You #1) Author: Genna Rulon Genre: New Adult Publication Date: September 24, 2013 Event organized by: Literati Author Services, Inc. Synopsis “In its purest form love is self-sacrificing, eternal, selfless, enduring, truthful, forgiving and indulgent. It also feels an awful lot like a kick to the stomach when you try to fight it!“ All Everleigh Carsen wanted to do was complete her final semester at Hensley University and begin the life she carefully planned. When a wave of violent crime seizes campus, Everleigh is persuaded to attend a school sponsored self-defense seminar by her best friend, where she meets volunteer instructor, Hunter Charles. After Everleigh’s biting sarcasm induces Hunter to eject her from class, a tempestuous relationship is born. Everleigh is determined to forget the striking man, but fate–that fickle shrew–continuously intervenes. Unable to escape him, she declares Hunter an enemy combatant. The only complication… Hunter is resolutely pursuing vindication…by any means necessary. Verbal warfare ensues, and despite Everleigh’s ingenious efforts, in Hunter, she has finally found her equal. Only For You is a compelling tale of friendship, desire, and redemption--brimming with intelligent characters, witty dialogue, unexpected twists, profound sorrow, unfettered hope, and love’s unassailable perseverance. Though it annoyed me to the fullest with Hunter’s shenanigans (You know what I mean if you read it), I still loved it. Every second of this book left me breathless and when it came to a closing, I wanted more. Only for you was not only fun to read, but also an emotional read. You have that tension in the air throughout this book as the college is in chaos because of the rapist running lose. Then, you have Hunter, the world’s most infuriating, adorable, and funny love interest known to man (Note how I say known to man because Daemon is the bestest but he’s an alien so it doesn’t count) I don’t think this book was ever slow for me because one second it was focused on romance, then friendship, and finally the terror of a tragedy. This book was across the map for me and if the writing had been different, I wouldn’t have liked it as much as I did. So, check out Only for you and I swear, you will squeal, laugh, and cry at least once in during this novel. Coming up in January: Pieces of You (Only For You #2) Review & Release Countdown!

Synopsis
Enna Petersen has never been good at making personal decisions, particularly when she has to choose between her passions. As a theater director, the stage is her world, the spotlight her vitamin D, the waft of greasepaint her oxygen. However, when her handsome American businessman boyfriend proposes and paints the picture of a luxurious life in Pennsylvania, she has to tear her heart in two and give up on her theatrical dreams.
But as she navigates the visa gauntlet at the US embassy in England, she meets Will, a charismatic, erudite actor who encourages her to not give up on her dilapidated and much beloved theater. However, homesickness soon strikes. Enna longs for the English countryside, her theater, and the passion that Will has inspired in her.
